What’s Not to Like?
Visiting Ketchum, Idaho this fall? It’s a great time to be here. Amazing fall colors, food, and beverages await. Not to mention some great Sun Valley hiking and biking before the snow flies!
If you haven’t been to Ketchum in a while, you will probably find the most popular foodie venues have stood the test of time- and a pandemic. All of the Wood River Valley establishments thank you for your support and patience as we adjust to the crazy new normal. Here are some of Wiseguy’s favorite places when he’s not having pizza in Ketchum, Idaho.
Coffee
The first-morning cup of joe is served up at Maude’s Coffee and Clothes -some of the best-brewed coffee in Ketchum, Idaho is expertly created to your liking using organic ingredients. Cafe Cubano is Wiseguy’s Monday morning go-to. And be sure to check out the unique selection of vintage clothing. It’s a blast from the past! We thank you baristas for getting us going every morning.
Breakfast
A tried-and-true local fave is The Kneadery. Since 1974 this family-owned cozy rustic-style restaurant has been cooking up some of the best breakfasts in Ketchum -with some of the freshest, quality ingredients. Reservations are not accepted so Wiseguy tries to get there as early as he can.
Lunch
Johnny’s, Johnny’s, Johnny’s! Johnny G’s Sub Shack is where it’s at. The locals have been shoving these classic subs into their mouths for nearly 25 years! Obviously Johnny G’s knows a thing or two about what their Ketchum customers like. Choose from their amazing menu -or build your own. Hot, cold, gluten-free, low-fat wheat wraps, salads, and bagels are all available. Eat there or take it on the trail with you. Wiseguy kinda has a thing for the Leftover. Perfect this time of year with Thanksgiving right around the corner!
Wine bar/appetizers
Sun Valley Wine Company has a great patio to take in the amazing Ketchum scenery, try some wines, and even some tasty appetizers. Bread with olive oil, spinach/artichoke dip, mixed olives, and more! Too cool outside? Cozy up next to the fabulous rock fireplace as you nosh on apps and sip an award-winning cab.
Dinner
The Sawtooth Club has a relaxed casual vibe, amazing hospitality, a great bar selection, and a menu that makes it difficult to choose. You seriously can’t go wrong with anything you decide on. Just do like Wiseguy -suggest everyone in your group order something different so you can all have a taste!
Dessert
The Pioneer Saloon -aka The Pio, is where to get Sheila’s Famous Mud Pie. An Oreo crust is topped with mocha ice cream, warm fudge, chocolate, almonds, and whipped cream. You can’t go to Ketchum and not have this incredible mud pie!
Bar
The Cellar Pub– Looking for a nightcap and to play a little shuffleboard? The Cellar is your place to wind down your day, catch some sports on one of the TVs, and discuss all the Sun Valley adventures you have planned for tomorrow!
Pizza~Anytime!
You know where to go to get the best pizza in Ketchum is here at Wiseguy Pizza Pie! But just in case you forgot- we’ve got whole pies, by the slice, great beers on tap, and even outdoor seating to take in the crisp fall air. After a little afternoon recreating, we’ve got just what you need at our Ketchum, Hailey, and Boise, Idaho locations!
